Visitor Services Supervisor

Salary: Attendant Supervisor, GSGA (Misc), $2,361 per fortnight pro rata

The Western Australian Museum has an exciting opportunity for two (2) key personnel to join the team and play a critical role supervising the daily operations of the Visitor Services workforce at the new Western Australian Museum (Perth Site).

The Western Australian Museum’s vision is to be an excellent and vibrant Museum, valued and used by all Western Australians and admired and visited by the world.

Opening in November 2020 the Western Australian Museum (Perth Site) will share the stories of our incredible people and places, and act as a gateway to explore all of Western Australia. It is a world-class museum that will be at the heart of our State and reflect the spirit of our people. Developed with a ‘people first approach’, it will feature Western Australians sharing their stories, in their own voices.

Conditions

There are currently two (2) part time, permanent vacancies, working 53.2 hours a fortnight.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate and a Working With Children Clearance will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Western Australian Museum and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered - permanent and fixed term, part time and full time.

Job Description

This position plays a strategic, hands on role in the daily operations of the Museum.  This role ensures the visitor experience is world class by leading a team of professional Visitor Service Officers with the interactions of patrons and guests and the Museum exhibits and building.   A strong customer focus with a teamwork emphasis and can-do- attitude is crucial to making the new Western Australian Museum (Perth Site) a proud West Australia Cultural Institution.
