The Role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a tertiary qualified, experienced Database Administrator who will ensure that all aspects of the databases and associated infrastructure meet the PTA’s needs in terms of performance, maintenance, support, security and capacity. The incumbent will analyse performance and availability of the PTA’s Information Technology (IT) systems and services, identify problem areas, and propose and implement solutions to enhance these IT systems and services.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- An IT related tertiary qualification, or considerable recent relevant experience in a technology role, including
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Oracle and/or MS SQL/Server database administration support;
- Database performance and capacity planning across all platforms;
- Installation and configuration of all components of database systems;
- Resolution of database problems of a technical nature;
- Writing, debugging and tuning SQL statements;
- Database High Availability concepts and implements;
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middleware product set, in particular Weblogic Server, Oracle Forms & Oracle Reports Environments;
- Substantial experience in the administration and support of UNIX and Microsoft Windows operating systems;
- Considerable experience in IT Service Management processes and practices.
There is currently one position available for an immediate start. You must have a current and valid Western Australian “C” or “C-A” class drivers licence. You must also have the ability to be “on-call” and work overtime as required, paid at the applicable rates as per the PTA Salaried Officers Industrial Agreement 2019.
