About the role
Casuarina Prison is one of the largest maximum security prisons in the state.
This recruitment process is to find suitable candidates to fill level 1 vacancies as they arise on either a Permanent Full Time or Fixed Term basis.
The Clerical Relief Officer will provide administrative support across the site as directed to cover positions in times of shortages due to absences such as secondments, leave etc.
Positions include but are not limited to areas such as Switchboard, Cashier, Stores, Finance and Human Resources.
Some of the positions include contact with offenders.
About you
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate;
- Sound computing skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and/or autonomously as required
- Be able to change direction at short notice
- Have good communication skills
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.

Pool Recruitment
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. When part of a pool you may be offered a permanent or temporary position, however an appointment is not guaranteed.
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the date of first appointment. Permanent and fixed-term full-time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise.
