What We Do
The Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) supports the Premier and Cabinet to identify, design, implement and monitor a coordinated policy, project and reform agenda based on a shared understanding of Government and community priorities. As a central agency and steward of the public sector, DPC works with public sector leaders and agencies to build a more efficient, accountable and high-performing public sector that delivers better services to the community. The work of DPC is underpinned by a strong understanding of the need to ensure the public sector operates as a cohesive whole, by aligning individual efforts and building stronger partnerships between agencies, with the community and with industry.
The Social Policy Unit (SPU) is part of the Policy and Reform Division and is responsible for providing advice and coordination for specific social policy issues and projects with a cross-government focus and building strong relationships with the community services sector.

About the Role
As the Assistant Director, you will be responsible for the provision of high level strategic direction and leadership for the comprehensive delivery of support and services to address the Government’s priorities. You will also support the Director for the effective development and delivery of social policy outcomes within agreed timeframes and budget parameters.
