Conditions This is a full time, fixed term vacancy until 30 June 2020, with a possibility of extension and/or permanency. There will also be a Pool running for a period of 18 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanency.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
Location This position is located in central Perth, based at Gordon Stephenson House, One40 William Street. You will be ideally located above the under-ground rail link and within easy walking distance of the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.
Job Description As the Human Resource Consultant sitting within the Human Resources team for the WA Museum, you will be required to provide a customer focussed consultancy and advisory service to management and staff on a diverse range of human resource matters. Contribute to the development, review and evaluation of HR strategies, plans, policies, procedures, guidelines and systems.
Specific duties you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Grievance and conflict resolution, performance management, learning and development, discipline and misconduct, redeployment and redundancy, change management, workforce planning and industrial relations conditions in a government environment.
- Undertakes classification assessment, including the development of job descriptions and provides advice on classification determinations and structural principles.
- Provides advice on the application of policies, awards and agreements.
