This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.2 FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2018.

Woodlands Primary School (PS) is seeking a hardworking and dedicated School Officer to join their friendly team.
As the Public Relations and Special Projects Administration Officer, the successful applicant will support the school leadership team to develop promotional materials, coordinate special projects and identify opportunities to promote the school. The successful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to display a commitment to building positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. The School Officer will work closely with the Parents and Citizens Association and the School Board.
The successful applicant will
- be highly organised and have the ability to work both unsupervised and in a team environment.
- have high level ICT competency and be able to manage and maintain the school website.
- provide assistance to the leadership team with the day to day administrative and resource management of special projects.
- demonstrated the ability to investigates suitable grant opportunities, researches grant requirements and liaises with appropriate staff and community members to develop grant applications.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be appointed to other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Ability to provide administrative support and coordination of special projects.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to provide administration support, meet deadlines and identify priorities.
- Ability in using computers and a range of application software packages particularly the ability to maintain web and multimedia platforms.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
