The position
The Resources and Environmental Compliance Division is seeking a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce, or an approved equivalent bachelor degree, with a major in accounting (bachelor degree to be completed in the current or preceding year).
Within the Resource and Environmental Regulation Group, the Resource and Environmental Compliance Division is responsible for the management of compliance and enforcement activities across the resource sector, including the provision of environmental approvals and compliance.
On completion of the graduate program you will carry out the role of a Financial Auditor in the Financial Compliance Branch, where you will undertake various functions such as:
- Conduct financial assurance reviews associated with the resources industry.
- Undertake audits of royalty submissions and other relevant financial submissions.
- Facilitate the collection and verification of royalties paid by the resources sector of Western Australia.
- Prepare reports, audit working papers and general correspondence concerning royalty assessment, collection and audit.
- Assist in the review, development and implementation of royalty legislation, royalty systems and royalty arrangements for mineral projects and assigned major and medium sized projects.
- Assist in the resolution of royalty issues and provides advice on royalty policy.

Initial employment is on a fixed term contract with provision for permanent appointment following successful completion of the first twelve months. At the end of the program, you will return to a position in the Resource and Environmental Compliance Division.
