The Statewide Services Division is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Administrative Assistant in the Student Wellbeing branch.
The Administrative Assistant will provide clerical and administrative support to members of the Student Wellbeing branch. Tasks will include preparing appropriate forms for travel and catering, credit card reconciliation, paying accounts and booking catering and travel.
The successful applicant will exhibit a good understanding of government processes and display good communication skills and tact. Applicants displaying strong attention to detail and accuracy as well as the ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to use their own initiative will be highly regarded. Being a collaborative and effective team member is essential to this role.
The Student Support Services Directorate, and all other functions of Statewide Services, support successful outcomes for all students. This is achieved through a focus on better integration of services with schools, students, families and external service providers; supporting schools and networks of schools to deliver high quality teaching and learning in every classroom; and creating expanded opportunities for students to develop the academic, personal and social competencies they will need for participation in the workforce and society of the future.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Experience in clerical and general administrative duties.
- Experience in purchasing, processing of accounts for payment and monitoring expenditure for a work unit.
- Sound written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with officers at all levels.
- Well-developed keyboard and computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, word processing and experience using an electronic records management system.
- Sound organisational skills, including the ability to use initiative and work independently or as part of a team.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
