As a Police Auxiliary Officer (Protective Service Officer) you will provide essential support to WA Police by providing protective security services across a number of buildings, such as Parliament House, Police Headquarters and Curtin House, designated places and events. Protective Service Officers will be deployed to key locations around the metropolitan area where you will be required to become familiar with the location and the surrounding environment. It's the ideal way to gain invaluable insights and make a real contribution to the community.
You will be trained to play a crucial support role to Police Officers. You will be given select police powers whilst on duty which will include the power to carry firearms and a Taser. This is a shift work position in accordance with the relevant industrial agreement provisions.
Successful applicants will be placed in a pool and selected to fill current vacancies and those arising within the next 12 months.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Supports WA Police by providing protective security services across a number of buildings, designated places and events.

- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident.
- Possess a Manual Motor Driver’s Licence with no more than 8 demerit points.
- Applicants are required to pass a Physical Performance Evaluation as part of the recruitment process. It is important you can meet the Physical Performance Evaluation requirements upon application. As this is a campaign applicants will only be provided with one attempt at the Physical Performance Evaluation.
SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITES
A number of specialist pre-requisite requirements are to be met, which are outlined in the Position Description (PAO 002).
OTHER CONDITIONS
Successful applicants will complete a 12 week training course at the WA Police Academy, located in Joondalup and will be provided with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Should the successful applicant/s decline or vacate the advertised position, the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Currently there is no pool expiry, however, police recruiting reserves the right to review and remove applicants from the selection pool at any time.
Any relocation costs associated with appointment to this position will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
