WA Health is seeking Aboriginal university graduates from a broad range of degrees/disciplines, and skill sets to join our Aboriginal workforce. We have graduate opportunities available in a variety of clinical and non-clinical roles across metropolitan and regional locations in WA.

The Aboriginal Graduate Program is a culturally tailored two-year employment program designed for Aboriginal university graduates. It offers an attractive salary, structured support and a culturally safe environment to help transition into employment with WA Health.

Who are we looking for

WA Health is committed to increasing the Aboriginal workforce and is seeking applications from Aboriginal graduates from a broad range of disciplines including:

• health-related degrees in allied health and health science professions, psychology, public health, mental health, biomedical sciences, health promotion, social work and many more.

We also encourage applications from graduates from:

• law, business and commerce, finance, data and computer science, HR, management, communications, arts, education, economics, humanities, marketing, social sciences, and many more.

Eligibility for the Aboriginal Graduate Program

To be considered for the Aboriginal Graduate Program, you must be:

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Have successfully completed or will complete a tertiary qualification from a recognised university, with a completion date (not graduation ceremony date) between January 2025 and December 2026. The tertiary qualification must be a minimum of an undergraduate degree, and
• By the commencement of the Aboriginal Graduate Program, have no more than 12 months full-time employment experience post-graduation that is relevant to your qualification.

How the Recruitment Pool works

The Aboriginal Graduate Recruitment Pool is used to fill fixed full-term and fixed part-time positions for up to two-years with the possibility of ongoing employment at the end of the program and:

• Applications are open until 17 August 2026.
• Suitable applicants will be placed in the Recruitment Pool from which appointments will be made to the Aboriginal Graduate Program.
• Appointments may be made from this Recruitment Pool for up to 12 months.
• You only need to register your interest once. Your application will remain in the Aboriginal Graduate Recruitment Pool until 16 August 2027, after which time you will need to reapply.
• The register is monitored, and applicants may be contacted if a graduate opportunity or similar vacancy arises that matches their skills, experience, and qualification.

Please note that placement in the Recruitment Pool does not guarantee an offer of employment.

• Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS)
• WA Country Health Service (WACHS)- opportunities exist in Central Office located in Perth and in regional placements)
• Health Support Services (HSS)
• PathWest (PathWest)
