About the Role

VenuesWest is seeking two experience Technical Operations Coordinators to join our team.

The Technical Operations Coordinator is responsible for working closely with production companies and clients to bring events to life, translating technical requirements for lighting, sound, staging, audiovisual systems, and floorplans into seamless, safe, and unforgettable event experiences. The role ensures event requirements are translated into safe, compliant and well‑executed rigging plots and maps.

The Technical Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in coordinating technical event logistics, managing service providers, and ensuring event systems, equipment and staffing arrangements operate effectively to deliver exceptional patron experiences and successful event outcomes.

We currently have two permanent full-time positions – one based at RAC Arena and another at Perth High Performance Centre in Mount Claremont, requiring flexibility to work weekends and out-of-hours to meet event needs. Applicable shift loadings apply for operational work undertaken outside standard business hours.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, this position may be exposed to traumatic events in the workplace. VenuesWest is committed to proactively ensuring the psychosocial safety and health of our workers through risk control and provision of services to support workers exposed to and impacted by traumatic events.

About the Person

We are seeking an experienced technical professional with a strong background and working knowledge in delivering complex, large‑scale sport and live events. You will deliver seamless audio visual, sound, IT and/or lighting experience for all internal and external key stakeholder.  

The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative and confident leadership style, working effectively with internal teams and stakeholders. You will have a strong technical focus, with the ability to translate event requirements into clear plans that support safe, compliant and high‑quality outcomes. You will utilise your sound judgement skills to lead teams through live event execution and contribute to the continuous improvement of event operations and customer experience.
