The School

Charthouse Primary School (PS) is located close to the beaches of Warnbro Sound and caters for children from Early Childhood Education to Year 6.

At Charthouse PS, we believe that every child can learn and that high-quality teaching, strong relationships and consistent whole-school approaches make a difference. We are an inclusive school with a diverse student population and are committed to ensuring every student experiences success, belonging and high expectations.

Our school has a strong culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Staff work together to develop consistent approaches to teaching, learning, behaviour and wellbeing, supported by professional learning, evidence and student data. We value staff who are willing to contribute their expertise, learn from others and take collective responsibility for improving outcomes for our students.

The Role

Charthouse PS is seeking enthusiastic, skilled and collaborative Primary Teachers to join our team.

Suitable applicants will ideally display strong classroom practice and a commitment to evidence-informed teaching. Our teachers work within an agreed whole-school pedagogical approach, with an emphasis on explicit teaching, consistent instructional practices, strong literacy and numeracy teaching and the purposeful use of assessment and student data to identify need and plan responsive teaching.

We recognise that applicants will ideally bring different experiences, knowledge and strengths to our school. While previous experience with our specific approaches is not essential, suitable applicants should be willing to engage in professional learning, reflect on their practice, respond positively to feedback and implement agreed whole-school practices consistently. Teachers at Charthouse PS work collaboratively, sharing expertise, planning and problem-solving with colleagues to improve outcomes for students.

Our teachers have high expectations for all students and understand the importance of creating safe, predictable and engaging learning environments. Suitable applicants will ideally possess effective classroom management, engagement and de-escalation skills and be able to build positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour.

Charthouse PS is committed to inclusive practice. Teachers work closely with Education Assistants and other staff to identify and respond to individual student needs.  We value teachers who see student diversity as part of their core classroom practice and are willing to adapt teaching and provide appropriate support to enable every student to participate, progress and experience success.

Above all, we are looking for teachers who want to be part of a team – teachers who are committed to their own professional growth, willing to learn from and contribute to the practice of others, and who share our belief that improving outcomes for students is a collective responsibility.
