The Role

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Kindergarten to Year 6 teachers who are committed to making a difference in the lives of every student. Suitable applicants should show strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach to teaching and a commitment to developing positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.

Teachers at Anne Hamersley PS work within collaborative year-level teams where shared planning, data analysis, instructional coaching and reflective practice support continuous improvement. Suitable applicants should be willing to implement whole-school programs and agreed teaching practices with consistency and fidelity.

Suitable applicants should have strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and the ability to deliver high-impact, evidence-informed teaching. Experience in planning and delivering explicit, systematic and well-sequenced literacy and numeracy instruction is highly desirable. In-addition, the ability to implement structured literacy approaches that develop students’ phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, spelling and writing skills is highly advantageous.

The desired applicants should ideally have the ability to deliver an engaging and purposeful mathematics programs that develop conceptual understanding, mathematical fluency, reasoning and problem-solving.

The desired applicants should display:

• The ability to use assessment and student achievement data to inform planning, differentiation, intervention and future teaching.
• An understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard, including their application to planning, assessment, documentation and continuous improvement.
• The ability to foster a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment aligned with whole-school behaviour and wellbeing frameworks.
• Effective differentiation to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disability, English as an Additional Language or Dialect learners and high-achieving students.
