About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and suitably qualified individual to appoint to the Service Manager position with Home Hospital, which forms part of East Care Connect. This is a permanent, full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight.
In this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Home Hospital service, providing oversight across EMHS sites. Key attributes of this role include;
- Working collaboratively with key clinical and corporate stakeholders, ensures alignment of clinical activity, workforce capacity and patient flow to meet service objectives and strategic deliverables.
- In partnership with the Director Service Operations and professional leads, identifies emerging operational risks, service pressures and opportunities for improvement, facilitating timely escalation and action through established governance frameworks.
- Accountable for the effective management and reporting of human, financial and business resources across EMHS Home Hospital, in alignment with EMHS safety, quality and performance frameworks.

Suitability Criteria
- Considerable relevant experience in a clinical environment including extensive knowledge of health care delivery systems and standards.
- Considerable experience and demonstrated skills in the management and leadership of staff, including change management.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to negotiate effectively and influence staff in the achievement of objectives.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated effective service planning and resource and financial management skills.
- Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
Area Profile
Our new Home Hospital service provides hospital-quality care in patients’ homes for conditions such as pneumonia, infections, wounds and heart conditions.
Launching in July 2024 at RPH, Home Hospital has expanded its capacity and capability with bases at RPH, AHS and SJOG Midland sites.
The service offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary care through in-person visits by health professionals and virtual means, with remote monitoring of vital signs through wearable technology.
As part of its operations, Home Hospital is building patient pathways − roadmaps for care − for acute medical, post-surgical, respiratory and complex geriatric conditions.
