ChemCentre is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior ICT and Security Officer to join our Business and Corporate Services team.

ChemCentre is Western Australia’s leading provider of chemistry and forensic science services. We provide a comprehensive range of scientific services, working with a wide range of clients including Government Agencies, universities, industry and the general public. Through the provision of chemical information, advice and analytical services ChemCentre mitigates risk to government, protects the community and the environment and supports sustainable development.
The Business and Corporate Services function operates under a service delivery model to support ChemCentre achieve its strategic and commercial objectives. We provide a range of services including human resources, financial management, records management, project management and ICT Services and support and enhancement of bespoke systems.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ICT professional with senior ICT Network Administration technical expertise, project management, and cyber security governance experience to contribute to the security, resilience and continuous improvement of ChemCentre’s ICT operations.
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the successful applicant will provide senior technical leadership including maintaining the organisation’s servers, networks, cloud services, identity management and endpoint security, while undertaking cyber security governance, risk, compliance and assurance activities. You will support strategic ICT initiatives, project delivery, procurement activities, vendor and contract management, and the ongoing development of ICT services.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate substantial practical and current experience in ICT infrastructures across Microsoft and Linux operating environments, together with strong knowledge of cloud technologies and maintaining and improving security environment and practice. You will possess highly developed analytical, complex problem-solving and cyber risk assessment skills, ability to identify and communicate and execute improvements and support increase capability across the ICT team.

This position is a permanent Full-time.
Suitable applicants may be considered for like positions within 12 months from the date of finalisation of the selection process.
The position is located in Building 500, Resources and Chemistry Precinct, Manning Road, Bentley.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a permanent position, Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential.

Prior to commencing employment, a National Police Clearance and Fitness for Work (alcohol and drug testing) will be required for a successful applicant.

Essential Criteria 1: Extensive experience managing ICT infrastructure in Microsoft and Linux operating environments, including server, storage, network, cloud, endpoint, identity and cyber security services.
Essential Criteria 2: Experience in maintaining and maturing cyber security governance, risk, compliance in alignment with the Essential Eight and ISO 27001.
Essential Criteria 5: Highly developed analytical, problem-solving skills to implement solutions, support project delivery and drive continuous services improvement and including cyber risk-assessment skills.
