This is Permanent or Fixed Term appointment at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Casual appointments may be considered.
Position Profile: Join a dedicated multidisciplinary Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team delivering high-quality, community-based mental health care across the Great Southern region. This position provides specialist mental health assessment, therapy and case management services to children, adolescents and their families within a community-based multidisciplinary CAMHS team. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will deliver evidence-based interventions, coordinate care, advocate for clients, and contribute to service development, quality improvement and community mental health initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the wellbeing of young people while supporting recovery-focused, client-centred care across the Great Southern region.

Suitability Criteria: Suitability recognises that a range of factors contribute to merit, including skills, knowledge, abilities, behaviours, ethical alignment and relevant operational requirements. The suitability requirements below are derived from the Job Description Form and define what will be assessed to determine your suitability for the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Nursing and eligibility for registration with the relevant Board, or tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Demonstrated clinical mental health practice with Children and/or Adolescents.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of clinical theory and issues in the treatment of children and adolescents with psychological and psychiatric disorders, in particular knowledge related to depression, anxiety, self-harming and suicidal behaviour.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation applicable to the Mental Health Service and people with psychiatric illnesses.
- Demonstrated written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills to enable navigation of online programs, policy access, internal communication and completing online learning resources.
- Eligible for/or in possession of a current C or C-A Class Driver's Licence.
- Experience working in a rural setting and knowledge of the issues impacting on children and adolescents residing in rural areas.
- Experience working with groups and/or the practice of family therapy.
- Experience in working with Aboriginal and/or CALD clients.
