HSS Project Opportunities
This is a recruitment pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Successful applicants will be appointed to a centralised Project Manager pool and may be deployed across a range of strategic Health Support Services and WA Health initiatives, including major digital transformation, clinical reform, ICT, infrastructure, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Program, and organisational change programs, based on organisational priorities.
Digital Delivery
As part of the wider Information, Communication and Technology Business Unit, Digital Delivery is responsible for leading the HSS customer-driven portfolio of digital or digitally-enabled programs and projects.
Digital Delivery comprises dedicated teams of highly experienced and specialised project and program management professionals. These teams work in close partnership with subject matter experts and specialist internal teams across HSS, as well as with the Department of Health and Health Service Providers, to successfully deliver major digital or digitally enabled programs and projects.
Transformation and Strategy
The HSS Transformation and Strategy Business Unit is responsible for HSS-wide strategy, as well as delivering transformation programs to modernise HSS and services provided to the WA health system, driving effectiveness and efficiency changes, improving customer outcomes and reducing costs. This includes program and project delivery and resourcing (including management of external resources), oversight and management of organisational-wide change impacts, ongoing performance improvement and management, and governance and reporting across HSS.
CHIIP
Critical Health ICT Infrastructure Program (CHIIP) is an HSS-led program to replace all WA Health’s LAN infrastructure to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks and data loss, and ensure the highest level of network security to protect patient records and business data.
This Program builds upon the work completed by HealthNext to modernise ICT foundations and enable next steps for the WA Health Digital Strategy 2020-2030.
Electronic Medical Record Program
The EMR Program is a consumer-centred program that supports healthcare providers to perform their roles enabling safety and quality to be at the heart of care for every consumer. The EMR has been established to digitally transform WA Health’s clinical information management systems by delivering a statewide EMR solution for WA Health. The EMR Program will incorporate changes to technology, business processes and culture. It will take advantage of innovations in digital health care to improve patient safety and quality of care for the Western Australian community regardless of their location.
Your new role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced person for the role of Project Manager.
As a Project Manager, you will lead the planning and delivery of complex projects that contribute to strategic organisational outcomes across the Health Support Services and WA Health. Working collaboratively with Program Managers, Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects that achieve agreed scope, budget, schedule and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
As Project Manager, you will:
- Deliver outcomes for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with agreed scope, budget, schedule and quality objectives.
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring and successful delivery of complex projects.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, issues and opportunities, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Work across multiple projects and business areas, applying sound project management practices in a dynamic environment.
- Support Program Managers and other Project Managers to coordinate, manage and report project progress, dependencies and outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across clinical, operational, technical and executive groups.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project and program delivery capability.
Highly Regarded Experience
Experience in one or more of the following environments will be highly regarded:
- Delivery of large-scale, complex projects or statewide transformation programs.
- Leading projects associated with organisational reform, service transformation or major government initiatives.
- Experience working within hospitals, Health Service Providers or the broader health sector.
- Delivery of digital health, Government ICT projects, electronic medical record (EMR), data, analytics, dashboards or enterprise technology initiatives.
- Experience working within complex program environments with multiple concurrent projects and interdependencies.
