An opportunity exists for a motivated Patient Care Assistant to join the team at Wyalkatchem Health Service.

A Permanent or Fixed Term (Part Time/Fulltime) appointment is available at various hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile

The Patient Care Assistant duties include:

  • Providing personal care to clients of the health service under the direction of a registered nurse,
  • Assisting in safe lifting, turning and general patient handling procedures,
  • Assisting with the delivery of patient meals in accordance with current food handling guidelines as set out by the Department of Health,
  • Day to day cleaning of the allocated areas within the health service carried out in accordance with Health Service standards, procedures and policies,
  • Laundry of hospital linen,
  • Other duties as required.
