About the role

The Public Transport Authority is seeking a dynamic, values-driven executive to join as Managing Director. Reporting directly to the CEO and as a key member of the Corporate Executive, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational performance of the Authority. This is a role for a proven leader with the ability to manage a large public transport agency.

In this pivotal role, you will maintain a close and trusted working relationship with the Minister, while contributing strategically across the broader Transport Portfolio. You will work in partnership with the Deputy Premier and her office, and collaboratively across the Transport portfolio, to deliver the Government's transport agenda. You will oversee a $3.2 billion capital investment program and lead initiatives that enhance service quality, improve customer experience, and grow patronage.

You will also play a central role in delivering major infrastructure and transformation projects that will shape Perth's transport network for generations, You will maximise the investment delivered through the METRONET program and oversee the successful delivery of the $2 billion High Capacity Signalling project. As Managing Director, you will play a central role in delivering the PTA's 2025–2030 Strategic Plan driving growth, strengthening resilience, enhancing the customer experience, driving diversity and equity across the PTA, and positioning the PTA as a dynamic organisation where people want to work.

About You!

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in the Transport Industry. Experience across all aspects of an integrated, multi modal public passenger transport system is highly valued.
  • Substantial senior management experience in a multifaceted commercial business, mass transit or relevant organisation of comparable asset base and size.
  • Mindset and Behaviours of an Agency Leader, as outlined in the Public Sector Commission's Leadership Expectations framework.
  • Relevant university-level qualifications in management or a related discipline.
