Are you an experienced and passionate Speech Pathologist ready to take on a senior leadership role across a major metropolitan health service with this initial development of Mount Lawley Hospital Speech Pathology Department?
We are seeking a dynamic Manager Speech Pathology to lead and shape services across Mount Lawley Hospital as part of Royal Perth Bentley Mount Lawley Group (RPBMG). This is an exciting opportunity to influence service delivery, drive innovation and make a meaningful impact on patient care across acute, rehabilitation and community settings.
About the Opportunity
In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and operational management of Speech Pathology services across RPBMG, ensuring delivery of high-quality, safe, and patient-centred care.
You will:
- Develop, lead, manage, and evaluate Speech Pathology services based at Mount Lawley Hospital.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, supervision, and performance management.
- Provide advanced clinical leadership and consultancy for complex communication and swallowing disorders including Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) and Videofluoroscopic swallow study (VFSS).
- Lead service improvement, innovation, and policy development initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
- Support research, education, and evidence-based practice.
Suitability Criteria
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing Speech Pathology services within a complex, multi-site healthcare environment.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in clinically complex or rehabilitation Speech Pathology environments including expertise in Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) and Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS).
- Proven ability to lead service improvement initiatives, clinical governance activities, and policy development.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, lead, support and coordinate staff to deliver safe and timely services.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex projects and manage competing priorities in an operational environment.
- Experience in supervision, mentoring and training of clinical staff to support service development and a collaborative culture.
- Eligible for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous quality improvement.
