WA College of Agriculture (WACOA) – Morawa is seeking to establish a pool of Kitchen Hands for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

WACOA - Morawa is located in the town of Morawa, which is 100km from the coast and one and a half hours away from the services and amenities of the City of Geraldton. We provide small class sizes for program delivery, which offers the opportunity to work flexibly with the individual needs of each student.

The Role

Suitable applicants will undertake general cleaning, catering or laundry duties across the College and Residential Boarding facilities, ensuring that a high standard of health, safety and hygiene is maintained. Duties will be concentrated in the kitchen area; however, suitable applicants may be required to assist across all areas as needs arise. Promptly reporting equipment and facilities faults whilst undertaking other related duties, as requested.

To be suitable for this role, the Kitchen hand is required to work well in a team environment to help prepare a large volume of meals on a daily basis. The ability to work unsupervised, good planning and coordinating skills to ensure adequate preparation of meals will be highly regarded.

1. Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to a busy schedule.
2. Demonstrated ability to recognise and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment operating instructions, safety instructions and training guidelines.
3. Demonstrated ability to use all cleaning equipment supplied to colleges, including polishers, vacuum cleaners and pressure cleaners.
4. Demonstrated ability to carry out laundry or cleaning or catering duties, including the safe operation of cleaning or laundry or kitchen equipment and appliances.
