Currently, there are two (2) permanent full time positions and one (1) fixed term full time vacancy available for up to six (6) months, with a possibility of extension and/or permanency, commencing as soon as possible.
About the role
The Workforce Design team partners with leaders and managers across the Department to deliver workforce design solutions that support organisational effectiveness. We provide expert advice and services on role design, job evaluation, classification and establishment management, ensuring workforce structures are aligned with business needs and organisational objectives.
Currently, we have the following vacancies:
- Level 3 – Job Design Officer – Fixed Term, Full Time, up to six (6) months, with a possibility of extension and/or permanency.
- Level 4 – Senior Job Design Officer – Permanent, Full Time.
- Level 5 – Workforce Design Consultant – Permanent, Full Time.
Part-time may be considered, subject to business requirements.
We invite talented professionals to join our team in the following roles:
Job Design Officer, Level 3
- Deliver basic job design, job evaluation and establishment management services to support accurate and compliant organisational structures across the Department.
- Undertake low to medium complexity assessments under guidance, applying established policies, frameworks and processes to support workforce governance.
- Provide basic advice and support to stakeholders on job design and establishment management matters, ensuring outcomes are accurate, consistent and compliant.
Senior Job Design Officer, Level 4
- Deliver medium-level job design, job evaluation and establishment management services to support accurate, compliant organisational structures across the Department.
- Independently manage low to moderately complex classification and establishment matters, providing advice and support to stakeholders in line with workforce design policies and frameworks.
- Contribute to workforce governance, projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workforce design policies, processes and practices.
Workforce Design Consultant, Level 5
- Deliver high-level job design, job evaluation and classification services to support effective, compliant organisational structures across the Department.
- Manage medium-to-complex classification matters, providing expert advice and ensuring strong governance through the application of workforce design policies, frameworks and processes.
- Coordinate team workflow and service delivery, including work allocation and workload management, while contributing to projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workforce design policies, processes and practices.

Suitability Requirements
Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:
- Workforce Design, Job Design and HR Advisory Capability
Demonstrated ability to provide workforce design, job design or related human resource services, including researching, analysing and applying relevant policies, procedures, legislation, awards, agreements and frameworks to support sound workforce outcomes.
- Analytical Thinking and Evidence-Based Decision Making
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess information, identify issues, think critically and make evidence-based recommendations.
- Written Communication and Attention to Detail
Well-developed written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and concise documentation, reports and recommendations, supported by strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, provide quality customer service and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and colleagues to achieve organisational outcomes.
- Delivery, Adaptability and Continuous Improvement
Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver work outcomes, manage competing priorities, adapt to change and contribute to continuous improvement while operating with integrity and professionalism.

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Subsequent Vacancies
Applicants found suitable but not recommended for this vacancy, may be considered for subsequent similar vacancies for a period of twelve (12) months, in accordance with section 7d of the Commissioner’s Instructions No.48 – Recruitment, Selection and Appointment to Permanent Vacancies, and section 9d of the Commissioner Instructions 49 - Recruitment, Selection and Appointment to Fixed Term Vacancies. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered at Perth Metropolitan area during this period.
