As we continue to grow and improve, we are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Investment Planning Analyst.

About the opportunity:

The Transport Investment Strategy Office has an immediate opportunity for an Infrastructure Investment Planning Analyst, working in our Investment Planning team.  This is a diverse, multidisciplinary team that undertakes its work in a dynamic environment.

This team plays a key role in developing our 10-year Unfunded Investment Program which guides future major investment priorities, through the prioritisation and development of a medium-term forward outlook of unfunded projects across the State road network.  The output of this team’s work is visible to Main Roads’ corporate executive and influential in setting the direction of our investment program.

In this role you will support the prioritisation of unfunded projects and development of a pipeline of major investments to deliver on Main Roads’ strategic drivers.  You will work closely with one or more Main Roads regional offices to build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of network investment needs and projects.  To inform investment strategies, you will consider how projects can be sequenced and packaged for the purpose of attracting external funding and achieving our objectives.

You will also support internal and external funding processes by assessing early-stage project proposals, developing funding submissions, and working with project teams to deliver strong, evidence-based investment proposals that meet funding requirements and support successful outcomes.

Successful applicants will leverage their technical skills in either transport engineering, business case preparation or economics to develop solutions and influence decision making within Main Roads.  They will have a record of negotiating with stakeholders, developing solutions and achieving results.

Applicants with prior experience in one of the following fields are highly encouraged to apply: infrastructure investment prioritisation, economic evaluation, civil engineering and/or infrastructure funding processes.
