This is a permanent, full time vacancy, 40 hours a week.

 

About the role

The Industrial Relief Instructor will provide relief assistance to manage, organise and control aspects of, and operate in, various services or industrial workshops, including but not limited to, metals, cabinet and construction industries, to maintain routine of the area while an officer is absent and/or on leave, to support prison operations. The position provides on the job instruction, accredited training and supervision to prisoners who work in this area. The position holds a supervisory role over other staff in this area

Eligibility

Special conditions – successful applicants must have:

  • A Driver’s License
  • A current valid Provide First Aid accreditation
  • A current valid Construction Induction Training accreditation (white card)

Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Qualifications – successful applicants must have at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Certificate III in Cabinet Making
  • Certificate III in Furniture Making
  • Certificate III in a Construction Trade (Brick and Block Laying, Carpentry and Joinery)
  • Certificate III in Building and Construction
  • Certificate III in Building Maintanence
  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Specialising in landscaping, conservation and land management)
  • Certificate III in Production Horticulture (Specialising in irrigation, crop production)
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
  • Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
