The Role
Applications are invited for the position of Head of IT Services.
The Head of IT Services leads the delivery of information and communications technology (ICT) services for internal and external customers of the Insurance Commission. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Head of IT Services is accountable for the provision of customer-focused ICT services, including IT Service Management, Client Services, Technical Support, Security Operations, Systems Support, End User Computing, and Identity and Access Management.
The Head of IT Services ensures ICT services are reliable, secure, customer-focused, and compliant with whole-of-government requirements, enabling the Insurance Commission to achieve its statutory and business objectives. The Head of IT Services leads multidisciplinary service delivery teams and drives continuous improvement across operational service management, cyber security operations, knowledge management, change enablement, and systems support functions.
The Insurance Commission will offer a five-year contract with a competitive remuneration package to attract an outstanding candidate.
The Person
You bring strong capability in providing strategic and operational leadership of ICT services within a complex organisation, ensuring reliable, secure, high-performing, and compliant technology operations. Apply strong knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks, including ITIL, to oversee ICT asset management, end-user computing, and identity and access management functions while maintaining effective cyber security, privacy, and information governance practices.
You will be able to lead and develop high-performing teams by driving organisational change, managing performance, and fostering a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused culture. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers, and provide senior leadership in stakeholder engagement, influencing outcomes at executive and cross-agency levels through clear communication and strategic collaboration.

The Insurance Commission is a State owned Government Trading Enterprise that provides motor injury insurance to 2.7 million Western Australian motorists and manages the self-insurance arrangements of the Western Australian Government.

Appointment Information
In addition to the immediately available position, appointments may be made from this process within a twelve-month period to similar positions that may be permanent or contract, including fixed term appointments with the possibility of extension or subsequent permanency.
