About us

The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.

What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.

We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA. We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

The work area

These roles sit within various Directorates across the RevenueWA business unit.

RevenueWA collects revenue on behalf of the Government and pays grants and subsidies to Western Australians. Although part of DTF, the Commissioner of State Revenue is an independent statutory role and is personally responsible for the administration of State taxation and grant laws by RevenueWA staff.

RevenueWA administers duties, land tax, and payroll tax laws, carries out compliance audits and investigations, and undertakes debt recovery. RevenueWA increases taxpayer awareness through education programs, develops revenue related legislation, and manages the legislative appeals process. In addition, RevenueWA also administers grant and subsidy schemes including the First Home Owner Grant, Pensioner Rebate Scheme, and various energy subsidies.

The opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. In these roles you will:

• Administer state taxation, grants and subsidy legislation to assess tax liabilities and determine eligibility for grants and subsidies.
• Provide guidance on the use of online services and respond to general customer enquiries.
• Support the branch in achieving its operational goals and customer service performance targets
