The Opportunity

We are looking to establish a talent pool of Governance Assurance and Compliance Officers to join our Towing Governance and Regulation Team.

As a Governance Assurance and Compliance Officer you will communicate with the Towing Governance and Regulation management team, as well as external stakeholders, about governance, risk and compliance matters, while providing regular updates on the assurance activities of the Towing Governance and Regulation team. You will provide support to the team in implementing continuous improvement processes, policies and procedures.

You will undertake surveillance, contribute to controlled on-road operations and execute warrants as required. You will undertake audits, compliance reviews and assessments of industry participants, including the review and monitoring of towing business and towing worker authorisations. You will analyse and prepare reports, system data and other documentation to identify potential risk areas relating to the Towing Governance and Regulation business of Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS).

Note: Some shift work, overtime and on-call availability are requirements of this role (appropriate remuneration and allowances will apply).

There are currently two (2) permanent positions available for immediate filling.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months from date of first appointment across DTMI. 

About you

  • Experience undertaking compliance, assurance, audit, investigative or regulatory activities within a regulatory environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies and procedures to achieve compliant and effective outcomes.
  • Experience assessing compliance and identifying risks through the review of records, data, systems and industry practices.
  • Well-developed communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and influence positive outcomes.
