The role
As General Manager Mines Statutory Positions you will lead the implementation of the examination and competency certification framework for Mines Statutory Positions under the WHS (Mines) legislation.
Working with government, industry and technical stakeholders, you will provide strategic leadership to establish and deliver a robust framework that supports competency in safety-critical mining roles across Western Australia.
Drawing on your experience in governance, project delivery and stakeholder engagement, you will oversee contracts, budgets, risk management and implementation planning, while providing strategic advice and reporting to the Mines Statutory Position Governance Board.
Your ability to navigate complex environments, influence diverse stakeholders and deliver outcomes will be key to success in this role ensuring the successful implementation of the framework and the achievement of agreed program objectives.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
Eligibility
To be eligible for fixed term employment you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia or have a valid visa to live and work in Australia for the duration of the fixed term employment at the time of application.
To work for LGIRS, you must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a clearance before you start. If deemed suitable, LGIRS will coordinate and pay for your NCCHC as part of your pre-employment checks.
