North East Metropolitan Language Development Centre (NEMLDC) are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
NEMLDC is seeking an exceptional Deputy Principal to join its collaborative leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our dynamic and innovative school which provides early intervention to support students with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) from Kindergarten to Year 2.
NEMLDC also delivers an Outreach Service to mainstream schools across the North East Metropolitan districts and the Wheatbelt region with a focus on building staff capacity to differentiate teaching and learning in language and literacy. Leadership of the Outreach Service is one of the rotational Deputy Principal portfolios at NEMLDC.
NEMLDC operates across three sites co-located at West Morley Primary School, North Balga Primary School and Beechboro Primary School. Applicants may be required to work across sites and undertake regional travel when leading the Outreach team.

The Role
The Deputy Principal will collaboratively provide strategic and operational leadership, foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture, while promoting the Centre’s vision, values and priorities. The successful applicant will ideally display strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to build staff capacity through professional dialogue and shared accountability, underpinned by a strong understanding of oral language and literacy development.
An understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), student case management, and data-informed decision making is highly desirable, as is the ability to liaise effectively with interagency and external service partners to support coordinated, timely and responsive student outcomes. Experience in Early Childhood Education and supporting high-quality teaching and learning will also be highly regarded.
