This is a Fixed Term Full-Time appointment for the following contracted dates: 17/08/2026 - 18/07/2027, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile:  

We are seeking a suitably experienced person for the role of Deputy Chief Medical Imaging Technologist to cover leave within the department.

In this role, you will assist the Chief Medical Imaging Technologist with the general administration of Medical Imaging Services, including the planning, management and co-ordination of service provision and the implementation, review and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures with reference to reflective practice and clinical/professional reasoning.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Organise and maintain the provision and delivery of Specialist and General Imaging Services on a daily basis.
  • Manage staff rosters to maintain a 24 hour provision of service and supervise imaging areas on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate performance management programs in a continuous process to monitor, evaluate and develop performance.
  • Interpret radiological requests and perform appropriate procedures in accordance with the Radiation Safety Act, other legislation, hospital or departmental policies and supervisor’s instructions.
  • Provide advice on and make independent decisions related to expert practice and/or delivery of services ensuring patient welfare, security and privacy.

    • Essential Criteria 3: Experience in management of medical imaging services, initiating independent judgement in coordinating the daily provision of general and specialised imaging services.
    • Essential Criteria 4: Extensive experience and demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and advanced skills in medical imaging procedures.
    • Essential Criteria 5: Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with parents, patients and all levels of staff.
    • Essential Criteria 6: Ability to supervise and control all aspects of the performance of the department with attributes which ensure continued effective staff management and leadership.
  • A current resume which summarises your experience and how you meet the position requirements.
  • The name, email and contact details of two referees who can be contacted to provide an employment reference.
