Position Profile: Operating at the heart of Western Australia’s only specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre, this role offers an extraordinary opportunity to elevate your advanced perioperative expertise within a highly rewarding leadership capacity. Joining the multidisciplinary Theatre team at Perth Children's Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between high-precision, evidence-based surgical nursing and the deeply sensitive, compassionate reassurance that vulnerable children and their families need during critical moments in their healthcare journey. It is a unique professional environment where your clinical skills directly contribute to shaping a safer, brighter future for young lives across the state.
As a Clinical Nurse within the Surgical Directorate, you will actively drive patient safety, quality control, and the continuous improvement of perioperative care pathways. Beyond managing complex clinical cases, your leadership will be essential in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals through the direct supervision, mentorship, and clinical development of Level 1 Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and undergraduate students. Working in close, fluid collaboration with a diverse team of surgeons, anaesthetists, and allied health professionals, you will translate the core values of excellence and compassion into daily action, ensuring exceptional, child-centred care every time.
