The Opportunity
Delivering one of the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board’s (MCB) core services, you will join the Grounds team in a critical role that supports the community that comes into the cemetery to ensure a safe and well-looked after place for them.

In this role, you will:
- Maintain gardens and grounds through routine landscaping, planting, and basic chemical application.
- Operate and maintain horticultural equipment, reporting faults promptly.
- Contribute to developing and implementing work team plans.
- Report and assist in resolving grounds maintenance enquiries in a timely manner.
- Clean plant, tools and equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Safely load, transport and operate vehicles on site.
- Assist operational teams with additional activities as required.
- Perform all work in line with policies, procedures and relevant standards.
Training is provided (including the opportunity to gain relevant accreditation), previous industry experience is not essential. What matters most is your attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to high standards.

A recruitment pool will be established from this process. Applicants assessed as suitable may be considered for future permanent or fixed-term opportunities in this or similar roles for a period of twelve (12) months. Successful applicants placed in the pool may be offered positions at any MCB location including: Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park, Midland/Guildford Cemetery, Fremantle Cemetery, Rockingham Regional Memorial Park, and Karrakatta Cemetery.
