About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
This role sits within the Strategy and Governance branch which is part of the Corporate Strategy and Performance business unit. The branch plays a central role in shaping the Department’s future direction, leading enterprise-wide strategy, governance, performance and transformation initiatives. We drive strategic planning, policy development, corporate governance and integrity, information management and performance reporting, while championing continuous improvement and organisational change to enhance capability and deliver better outcomes for our stakeholders.
The opportunity
Are you passionate about shaping strategic direction, strengthening governance and delivering meaningful organisational change? We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic person to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. In this role, you will:
- lead governance, strategy and performance activities, including corporate governance frameworks, strategic and operational planning, and performance monitoring and reporting to support evidence-based decision-making
- oversee information management and compliance, including records, data and systems governance, and Privacy and Information responsibilities to ensure legislative compliance and the secure, effective use of information; and
- drive transformation and continuous improvement, strengthening capability and service delivery, and working across the agency to deliver integrated corporate services aligned to strategic priorities.
We currently have one (1) permanent full-time position available for filling within the Strategy and Governance team.
