This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAP

Education Business Services (EBS) is the key provider of professional business services and support for Western Australian public schools, statutory boards and divisions of the Department. These highly valued services are delivered through the areas of finance, information communication and technologies (ICT), and infrastructure. The Role

The role provides specialist financial and strategic support to the Branch through the analysis, preparation and reporting of financial information related to the Department’s budget processes. This includes maintaining a strong understanding of Australian equivalents to the International Financial Reporting Standards (AIFRS) and Treasurer’s Instructions to support the preparation of Budget Statements, analysing financial data, preparing reports on Budget Papers and cost of services, and contributing to financial accounting policies and strategic planning and reporting. The role also supports the costing and pricing of outputs and assists stakeholders with the preparation of Budget Statements and other external financial reports, while researching and preparing briefing papers, correspondence and Ministerial or Parliamentary responses.

The position contributes to the achievement of branch objectives by providing leadership and guidance to team members and representing the Directorate on committees and working groups focused on improving financial and accounting processes. The role also supports change management initiatives and promotes a safe and inclusive workplace that values equity, diversity and collaboration in achieving organisational goals.

In addition, the role maintains strong customer and stakeholder engagement by liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including professional bodies, the Department of Treasury and Finance and the Office of the Auditor General. It develops and maintains effective communication networks to access specialist knowledge, while promoting a strong focus on customer service delivery and continuous improvement of financial and reporting services.
