
Carnarvon Community College (CC) is seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable applicants will assist teaching staff throughout the college in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. They should possess the ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students. They will ideally also provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress. Suitable applicants will be engaged to work with both Primary and Secondary students.
Suitable applicants would ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. They will be compassionate and able to work collaboratively to implement documented plans.
Applicants should ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be collegial, effective collaborators.
Suitable applicants will possess the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students and teachers. They will also have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour and have some experience or knowledge of disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder.
