
We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Under teacher direction, an Education Assistant - Special Needs assists in the education programs and should promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment. They assist teachers in the delivery of planned education programs to assist students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, social, emotional, and physical skills. The ideal applicants should have experience supporting students with English as Additional Language / Dialect (EALD).
As Education Assistants - Special Needs, suitable applicants would provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education
The ideal applicants should possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all staff members to meet the needs of students. Experience and knowledge in supporting students with complex behaviours is highly desirable. Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask is also highly desirable.

- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
