This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026

Pickering Brook Primary School (PS) is a unique school, nestled in the Perth hills, with community at its heart. Our school puts student needs' first; with evidence-based teaching practices, and staff who really know their students; how they learn and what they need to learn next. Our multi-grade approach sees students learn from each other, lead each other, and have opportunities to develop more sophisticated social skills than students in same-age settings.

Find out more about our school by visiting pickeringbrookps.wa.edu.au or Schools Online.

The Role

We are seeking a primary teacher with exceptional interpersonal skills, displaying a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues. Our teachers establish positive and inclusive classroom environments, set high expectations and cultivate a growth mindset, while nurturing students' social and emotional development, through a positive behaviour support (PBS) approach.

Ideally, you will exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with a strong motivation to excel, and a commitment to display best practices including explicit teaching, daily reviews and high-impact practices in-line with the Department of Education’s Teaching for Impact. Experience in delivering Talk for Writing and Talk for Reading would be beneficial, though not a requirement. The capacity to excel in an environment characterised by whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth is highly valued. As a small school our classes are multi-grade and experience and knowledge in this area will be highly regarded.

Professional Benefits

Working for the Department of Education you will enjoy a range of benefits including competitive salaries, flexible working arrangements, training and career development opportunities and attractive leave provisions. Find out more about the benefits by visiting professional and personal benefits.
