Karratha PS is an inclusive mainstream school with an endorsed Education Support program for students with additional needs. As part of a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, you will play an integral part in both an Education Support program that caters for students with high educational needs, as well as supporting students in need within the context of mainstream classrooms.
Our Education Support program is fluid and dynamic, specialising in education for students with additional educational needs who require substantial teaching and learning adjustments. Opportunities are also provided for students to be exposed to a range of mainstream integration experiences, appropriate to their level of development.

The Role
Suitable applicants will support teachers in the delivery and evaluation of clearly defined educational plans. A collaborative focus on targeted academic, social and emotional goals aim to support students to successfully participate in all aspects of their lives and community. Flexibility, sound interpersonal skills and good communication skills are highly desirable.

- Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programs, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
