The Role

The role of the Education Assistant - Lead is to lead, mentor, coach, and model good practices for other Education Assistants. You will ideally be an important and valued leader of the Learning Support team. The successful applicant should operate collaboratively with all staff across the school and be able to build and maintain effective team-based relationships. We value individuals who are highly professional, organised and display excellent communication skills, in line with the Department of Education’s Code of Conduct, drawing on these attributes when working with staff and the school community.

Education Assistant – Leads contribute to the design and implementation of documented plans and provide solutions and support to teachers and education assistants, which promote positive student behaviour and improved educational outcomes in the classroom. Experience in resource allocation, specifically timetabling and relief staff allocation, is highly regarded. It is highly desirable for applicants to have experience and understanding of neurodiversity and how to support and differentiate for students with a range of learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
