The Role
Excelsior PS is seeking a reliable, proactive Cleaner to join our friendly and supportive team. Our cleaners play an essential part in creating a safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained school environment for students, staff, and families.
As our Cleaner, your responsibilities would include:
- Contributing to a friendly and supportive work environment.
- Completing internal cleaning duties such as vacuuming, mopping and maintaining floors, cleaning toilets, wiping surfaces, emptying bins and keeping furniture and fittings clean.
- Cleaning windows as required to ensure classrooms and shared spaces remain bright and welcoming.
- Carrying out external cleaning duties such as sweeping verandas and covered areas, removing cobwebs, cleaning drinking troughs and keeping outdoor spaces tidy.
- Using cleaning equipment safely and following all necessary safety procedures and instructions.
- Reporting any hazards, damage, spills, or supply shortages to the Cleaner in Charge or Manager Corporate Services.
- Following daily and term cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are maintained to Department of Education standards.
