The Role
The successful applicant will ideally be organised, reliable, punctual and have good knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices, in accordance with the Department’s procedures.
As a Cleaner, the successful applicant will carry out both internal and external cleaning duties. Internal cleaning includes the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning and dusting. External duties include rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, external windows, verandas and covered areas, cobweb removal and other items of general cleaning. During vacation times, you will also undertake the stripping and sealing of vinyl floors, window cleaning, shampooing of carpets, pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas.
The Cleaner is also responsible for reporting faults, maintenance issues, and incidents to the designated supervisor while ensuring that schools are cleaned and maintained in compliance with Department and occupational safety standards.
