The Role

As a Library Officer, you will play a vital role in providing clerical and library support. This includes tasks such as preparing correspondence, booking facilities, and assisting with stocktaking. Your responsibility extends to maintaining a safe and orderly library environment, including the upkeep of equipment, displays, and the repair of damaged books, as well as the proper covering of new books.

Operating library systems will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring that records are up-to-date, new resources are added, and deleted or archived items are appropriately documented with accurate barcoding. Timely and effective processing of loans and returns is crucial to ensure accessibility for students, staff, and parents.

Creating a warm welcoming environment with engaging displays is part of the role at Swan View PS as we want to foster a love of reading in our students. We also require a person who enjoys engaging with students, teaching them about the library and listening to their choices about book selections.

Previous experience with the Oliver Library System is desirable.
