The Role

We are ideally seeking an outstanding Deputy Principal who is highly relational, strategic and committed to building a positive culture of trust, growth and continuous improvement.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Principal and leadership team to ideally support a culture of high expectations and high support for both students and staff. They would contribute flexibly across multiple aspects of school leadership and demonstrate the ability to lead through influence, build strong relationships and empower others.

At Sheoak Grove PS, we value distributed leadership and believe leadership capability should be grown throughout the school. We are ideally seeking a leader who would empower others, develop leadership in those around them and contribute to a culture of shared responsibility, collective efficacy and continuous improvement.

The successful applicant should display strong instructional leadership and an understanding of contemporary evidence-based practice, including explicit teaching, inclusive education, cultural responsiveness, Positive Behaviour Support, trauma-informed practice and student wellbeing. You would understand that high quality teaching, wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion are deeply connected and essential to student success.

The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, allied professionals and external agencies to support students with complex academic, behavioural, social and emotional needs through effective case management and wraparound approaches.
