
We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As Education Assistant - Special Needs, suitable applicants will under teacher direction, assist in the implementation of specialised education programs and maintain a supportive, inclusive education program to meet the specific needs of students. Suitable applicants should display a commitment to working collaboratively and building positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community.
Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ideally be versatile with the ability to work well under pressure. Applicants should ideally have a calm, positive and professional manner and have the ability to use your initiative to assist the teacher with the general care and wellbeing of students and maintenance of the learning environment.
The desired applicants will ideally be highly motivated, and possess sound written and oral communication skills to support individual or small group-based programs. The ideal applicants should also have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour and have some experience or knowledge of disabilities.

- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
