The Role
We are ideally seeking a dynamic and dedicated Deputy Principal who displays highly collaborative leadership and a strong commitment to excellence in primary education. The role requires a commitment to leading sustainable whole-school improvement with student achievement at its core.
The Deputy Principal will work closely with the Principal and Leadership Team to provide high-quality educational leadership within the school and broader community. This may include leading a strong performance and development culture with high expectations, accountability, and distributed leadership across the school. It also involves supporting the delivery of the School Business and Operational Plans through effective decision-making, policy development, and the implementation of monitoring systems aligned to the school’s strategic priorities.
In addition, the successful applicant should display the following key attributes and responsibilities:
- Exceptional communication skills and strong interpersonal acumen.
- The ability to maintain a positive school culture that promotes respectful relationships, student wellbeing, and strong engagement with parents and caregivers.
- Capacity to support the effective day-to-day operations of the school, including staff and student wellbeing, with proven ability to implement positive behaviour strategies.
- Experience in strengthening and supporting teaching teams to deliver high-quality, low-variance teaching practice.
- Leadership in evidence-based, high-impact instruction in literacy and numeracy.
- Strong behaviour management knowledge and skills, including the ability to work closely with staff to support students with complex needs and promote inclusive practices within a positive behaviour culture.
Overall, the Deputy Principal serves as a key leader in ensuring educational excellence and operational effectiveness across the school.
Applicants with leadership qualities and the ability to build staff capacity and lead teams of teachers to examine and plan for student improvement through the effective use of student data will be highly regarded.
