This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026.

Cyril Jackson Senior Campus (SC) provides students with an alternative approach to Year 11 and Year 12 schooling. It is one of two senior campuses in Western Australia that offer secondary education to students beyond the compulsory age of 18 years. It hosts an Intensive English Centre (IEC) which caters for up to 250 newly arrived migrant or refugee students. These students participate in an English language program for up to two years before completing Years 11 and 12. International Fee-Paying Students are also accepted.

In addition to IEC graduates, students in Years 11 and Year 12 include school-aged children working towards their Western Australian Certificate of Education, 18 and 19-year-old repeaters and mature age students.  These students are returning to education to gain tertiary entrance qualifications, following an interest or to gain a skill-based qualification. Enrolments are accepted from across Western Australia and students hail from many diverse backgrounds. Students enrol because they see Cyril Jackson SC as a place of opportunity to further their education.

The Role

The successful applicants will ideally display an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, especially within the Health and Physical Education (HPE) area and be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Years 11 and 12 in a dynamic and highly engaging manner. The timetable for 2026 for this role includes SCSA courses and endorsed units in Physical Education as well as recreation classes for IEC students.

We will be reviewing offerings within the HPE learning area and will consider Certificate programs from the 2027 school year. The successful applicant should be actively engaged in this process and will ideally have, or be willing to work towards, completing a Cert IV in Training and Assessment.

We are also in the process of establishing a Future Leaders program at Cyril Jackson SC, therefore teachers who are aspiring to leadership roles are encouraged to apply for this position.

The successful applicant will ideally be a highly motivated and dedicated teacher of physical education. Teachers able to collaboratively in team environments and have an openness and capacity for learning would be desirable. The ability to reflect and improve on your practice as an educator in the school is highly desirable.
