The Role
MMDHS is seeking a passionate and adaptable Secondary Generalist Teacher to join our dedicated team in a unique and rewarding regional context.
We are looking for educators who are student-focused, relationship-driven and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people. At MMDHS, we value the individual strengths, experiences and passions that staff bring to our school community. As such, we are not advertising for a specific specialist learning area. Instead, successful applicants will have the opportunity to work within their areas of strength, interest and expertise to best support student engagement and achievement.
Experienced upper primary teachers who are interested in transitioning into secondary education are strongly encouraged to apply. We recognise the valuable skills upper primary educators bring, including strong relationship-building, differentiation, explicit teaching practices and the ability to support students across multiple learning areas.
An advantage for applicants would be knowledge of, or experience with, Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) programs, inclusive education practices, trauma-informed approaches and supporting students with diverse learning and engagement needs.
The successful applicant will ideally display:
• A commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff
• Flexibility, initiative and a willingness to contribute to whole-school improvement
• A passion for supporting student wellbeing, engagement and success
At MMDHS, staff are supported through collaborative planning, professional learning opportunities, strong leadership support and a connected school community. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school focused on continuous improvement, cultural responsiveness and creating positive futures for students.
