
We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officer’s for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Riverside Primary School (PS) is a Level 5 school with approximately 480 students enrolled in Kindergarten to Year 6. Riverside draws from a wide boundary catchment area. Families of Riverside PS are from diverse social and economic backgrounds. This makes Riverside PS unique in that it is catering for most spectrums of society. There is also a high rate of transiency. Both of these factors create their own set of challenges to work through at the school.

The Role
We are seeking experienced School Officers to join our team and provide exceptional customer service through reception duties, general clerical and administrative support, and maintaining school facilities and resources. You will be the first points of contact for our schools, responsible for providing efficient and friendly service to our students, parents, and visitors. The suitable applicants will ideally have sound knowledge of Compass, Student Information System (SIS) Integris, Resource management (RM) Billing, RM Finance, Asset Manager and Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), Microsoft Office and Canva to complete their daily work.
The School Officer will be responsible for distributing and collecting documents, forms, and mail, as well as collecting and receipting monies in accordance with departmental procedures. You would assist with maintaining school facilities and equipment, arranging catering for school functions, and making travel arrangements for school staff.
Some of the key financial and administrative tasks School Officers would perform includes helping with processing relief staff payments, leave requests, electronics forms and associated tasks in HRMIS as well as providing support with the induction of new staff and coordinating relief staff. In-addition, as school officers’ suitable applicants would help with the management of school assets such as the administration of out-of-hours use of school facilities, coordinating and negotiating maintenance and repairs and maintaining key registers and security system codes.
The School Officer would play a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial operation of the school. This includes tasks such as undertaking account and GST coding, reconciling financial records and processing invoices. School Officers also assist with month-end procedures such as transporting receipts to the bank and maintaining data integrity. They will be responsible for collating figures for financial planning and budgeting, which will help the school make informed decisions about its resources.
