We are seeking to establish a pool of Home Economics Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The Role

There is an immediate requirement for a fulltime teacher starting in Term 3, 2026. There is potential for this role to extend beyond 2026 with a possible offer of permanency.

Suitable applicants will ideally be positive and passionate teachers of Home Economics, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. You would use your professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant Home Economics curriculum.

Applicants who set themselves and their students’ high expectations, display a commitment to excellence and use a range of pedagogies to enhance outcomes for students will be highly regarded.

The ability to be self-motivated and prepared to embrace new opportunities will be well regarded. You will ideally have an excellent understanding of the Years 7-10 Western Australian Curriculum - Food Technology, Textiles and Child Development courses. Also, knowledge of the Western Australian (WACE) Food Science and Technology and Textiles course with the ability to successfully develop and deliver programs in this area will be advantageous.

The ability to deliver a Certificate II and/or III course would be desirable but not essential. The school is willing to support teachers to gain their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) if the need arises.
