This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced School Psychologist seeking adventure who is keen to grow their professional skill set, someone with strong systems support knowledge and/ or coaching and mentoring experience who can value add to the needs of a rural and remote School Psychology team. Conversely, it would equally be a great opportunity for an early career School Psychologist seeking to challenge themselves, ready to enhance their professional experience and support the holistic learning and wellbeing needs of our students.

The Role

As a school psychologist with the Midwest Education Regional Office, you will be joining a dynamic team of psychologists, from early career through to many years of experience. While you will be employed with the Midwest Education Regional Office team, you may be working in various schools across the Midwest location, primarily in the locality of Gerladton. We’re looking for a highly motivated psychologist, with a strong focus on professional learning communities and collegiality.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to collaborate and work effectively with our regional and school leadership teams, teaching staff, students, families and the wider school community. As a school psychologist you will ideally exercise professional reflexivity and work in culturally responsive ways to create conditions for culturally safe care.

The role involves building and maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships within and external to the Department of Education, a strong understanding of case management, ability to consult widely, and work effectively as both part of a team and independently when required. The school psychologist provides psychological services and evidence-based assessments and interventions in mental health and well-being, behaviour, risk and critical incident management, learning and disability.
